Mandy Takhar was born and bought up in Wolverhampton city in the United Kingdom. Her roots are from Maliana which is a small village near Phagwara in Punjab, India. She showed her interest in acting when she was only eight years old. At the age of 17, she moved to London away from her family to pursue a degree in drama at Kingston University of England. In 2009 she left the UK to join the Indian Film Industry and came to Mumbai to work as an actress.
Mandy debuted in Pollywood in the film Ekam – Son of Soil in the year 2010 in opposite to renowned Punjabi singer Babbu Mann. Then, after that, she played Sahiba in the movie Mirza – The Untold Story. Her performance for the role of Sahiba was so good that she got nominated at the PTC Punjabi Film Awards for the best actress. She played Sahiba, the lead role in that movie opposite to the superstar Gippy Grewal. In 2013 she was seen in the comedy film Tu Mera 22 Main Tera 22.
